About
The Human Powered Vehicle Team at UC Davis is a student engineering group whose goal is to design an aerodynamic and highly engineered land vehicle. Designing, fabricating, and racing a human powered vehicle is a challenging and rewarding experience for students at UC Davis. It provides an excellent opportunity for students to apply classroom knowledge to real-world applications. In addition, all the financial planning, recruiting, organization of the club is completely done by students, so members also gain important skills in teamwork, leadership, and time management.
The UC Davis HPV Team is a non-profit student organization committed to creating an advanced competition vehicle that will represent the University as well as the local Davis Community.
In the competition, the HPV teams are judged not only on the performance of the vehicle on the racetrack, but also on other factors, such as a technical presentation, construction, and safety of the vehicle.
