The UC Davis Human Powered Vehicle (HPV) Team is a student engineering group whose goal is to design an aerodynamic and highly engineered land vehicle. They participate in an annual national competition sponsored by the American Society of Engineers.
Designing, building, and racing a human powered vehicle for the ASME HPV challenge is a challenging and rewarding experience for students at UC Davis. The competition provides an excellent opportunity for engineering students to apply classroom knowledge to real-world applications. Team members gain important skills in teamwork, leadership, and time management.
The UC Davis HPV Team is a non-profit student organization committed to creating an advanced competition vehicle that will represent the University as well as the local Davis Community.
In the competition, the HPV teams are judged not only on the performance of the vehicle on the racetrack, but also on other factors, such as a technical presentation, construction, and safety of the vehicle.
